the DC rundown..

Sunday
We met up for breakfast after I checked into the hotel. We being Marilyn and her nephew Keith. We took off walking towards the center of the city and BAM the White House hit us right in the kisser. We snapped a few photos, then continued to the WWII Memorial, the Reflecting Pool, Vietnam War Memorial, the Korean War Memorial. Can you say we did just a little in one day?
Monday
We went up the Washington Monument and looked around. Very cool history in that place! Had Super yummy lunch at a Pizzeria, then hit the Air and Space Museum to kill some time. Our last tour of that day was a Congressional Tour of the Capitol Building. I have to tell you the new Visitors Center is so cool! The history in that place is pretty freaking awesome as well.
Tuesday
Started the morning off with a tour of the White House. Yes the one the President and his family live in! A very cool thing to come and see during the holidays. The trees, the decorations. Awe inspiring. Only be be followed by going out to Arlington Cemetery. If you haven't had the chance to do this, it really is one of the most humbling experiences. We saw the Kennedy's burial spots. Memorials to Pan Am flight 103, the Challenger and Colombia Space shuttles and finally the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers where we saw the changing of the guards.
Amazing days in DC.. have one more full day tomorrow and we are thinking of hitting the Smithsonians..
Ill post pictures once I get them loaded to the computer back home
